Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held at SHCC Chamber located at 1491 River Park Dr., Ste. 101, Sacramento. Meeting times can be subject to change.
Ambassadors act as a liaison to facilitate the member’s access and understanding of the chamber’s strategic scope of work in order to serve our mission. They also assist in recruiting and retaining members. Applications for the Ambassador program are accepted year-round.
The Membership Committee develops and drives strategies to grow and retain Chamber membership. The committee works to ensure that members feel the value of their investment and seek to find opportunities that keep members actively engaged in the networking, education, and advocacy programs offered through the Chamber.
The Membership Committee meets the second Monday of each month at 8:30 a.m.
The Regional Advocacy and Legislative Committee‘s are responsible for monitoring and developing business advocacy initiatives in the local community and the state of California. They also stay on top of issues that impact our business owners.
The Regional Advocacy committee addresses issues including public policy, ordinances, zoning, budgets, ballot measures, licensing/permits, etc. The Legislative Committee focuses on state legislative issues.
The Advocacy Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m.
Spanish Speaking Small Business
The committee seeks opportunities to integrate the large constituency of Spanish-speaking business entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community members to the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and its activities. The committee plans the Spanish-speaking mixers as well as provides educational information through seminars, workshops, forums and outreach delivered in Spanish language.
The Spanish Speaking Small Business Committee meetings are TBD.
The SHCC has maintained as one its core values, the need to provide support, mentoring and scholarships for youth and business professionals in the Greater Sacramento region. It is estimated that the chamber has given over $500,000 in scholarships over the years. The committee meets to review and select scholarship recipients, identify scholarship donors and also assist in setting committee goals.
The Education Committee meets the second Thursday of each month at 9 a.m.
Annual Awards & Recognition Banquet-Coming in 2014
The Annual Awards and Recognition Banquet is the largest fundraiser for the SHCC. The incoming Chairperson of the Board of Directors, other board members, Chamber members, and the SHCC staff all participate in fundraising and organizing the event. We need committee members to assist with pre-event planning and day of event volunteer activities.
Committee meetings will begin again in July 2013.
Small Business Symposium –Tuesday, June 4, 2013
The Small Business Symposium provides an overview of the State of Small Business in the Sacramento Region, educational workshops, a legislative luncheon, and a networking mixer. It’s a half-day event that provides business owners and the overall business community with information and resources that will assist them in growing their business.
Small Business Symposium meetings are on the second and fourth Fridays of each month at 8:30 a.m.
Jalapeño Classic Golf Tournament-Monday, August 5, 2013
The Annual Jalapeño Golf Classic was organized in 1988 to raise funds for scholarships and other activities that encourage Hispanic youth to maximize their potential in education and their chosen career fields. The Jalapeño Classic Golf Tournament continues for two purposes: 1) provide a venue for chamber small business owners and corporate members the opportunity to network and 2) develop a charitable fundraising event for enhancing our education scholarship program.

Latin Food & Music Festival-Coming in September 2014
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Latin Food & Music Festival. This is a family-friendly event that celebrates Latin America’s rich and diverse cultural heritage with live music, dance performances, and a food fair.
Latin Food & Music Festival meetings are the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 4:30 p.m.
