Friday, March 21, 2008 - CEO Diana Borroel has expressed her concern to City Council over the decision to delay the funding of the Sacramento Railyards Project.
"The decision directly affects our members," said Borroel in an email sent to City Council members. "While the SHCC understands the need to establish spending priorities with limited funding, we are equally concerned that the opportunities presented to Sacramento's small businesses as a result of the Railyards Project not be overlooked."

Our keynote speaker, Rosario Marin, the Secretary of State and Consumer Service Agency and former 41st United States treasurer, captivated the audience at our 36th Annual Business Awards and Recognition Gala on February 23, 2008.
Sticking with the theme of the night, "Latinas/La Siguiente Ola/the Next Wave, we honored eight outstanding Latinas for their dedication and contributions to Sacramento and recognized our annual Business Award Winners.
Guests mingled and networked with colleagues, formed new relationships, enjoyed delicious food and bid on fantastic prizes in our silent auction.
