The Mission of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is to maximize the success of our members’ businesses through networking, advocacy and education.

Sacramento Business Service Center and Alliance for Business and Community History:

The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce originally conceived of the Sacramento Business Services Center (SBSC) as a medium to address the business development needs of its members. To enable the Chamber to remain a relevant service provider in the business community, the Board mandated the creation of this innovative business center. The SBSC is a nonprofit public benefit organization organized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code and its appointed board of directors governs a corporate entity. As set forth in the SBSC bylaws, the SHCC Board of Directors, which exercises oversight responsibility over the SBSC, empowers the subsidiary and its Board of Directors to operate independently. The SBSC was incorporated on April 4, 2001

The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce and the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce founded The Alliance for Business and Community in 2001 after the leadership of each ethnic chamber became convinced that collective bargaining efforts would provide the leverage necessary to create a mutually beneficial operating environment for all involved.

This fact became apparent following the successful negotiation of a service agreement to perform work with SMUD, which wanted to have each large ethnic chamber speak with one voice rather than as individual organizations. This arrangement eliminated the mistrust and conflicting messages being given to each chamber and to the corporation.

The purpose of the Alliance is to realize the value of jointly promoting and improving outreach, marketing, contracting/procurement opportunities, training needs and partnership agreements with corporations and government agencies in the Sacramento Region. By standing together, the large ethnic chambers can generate more leverage for negotiating contract agreements, and more importantly, more leverage for improving the environment for small business throughout the region.
