Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Organization

The Mission of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is to maximize the success of our members’ businesses through networking, advocacy and education.

SHCC Standing Committees

Membership
The purpose and goal of the Membership Committee is to increase membership and retain existing members which is monitored and reported monthly to the board of directors. Outreach and education is also developed in order to provide business owners practical seminars. The committee also reviews, evaluate, and changes current business categories along with associated rates in order to increase membership value.

Ambassador Program
Ambassadors are confident and committed individuals who provide value to the chamber. They act as a liaison to facilitate the member’s access and understanding of the Chamber’s strategic scope of work in order to serve our mission. Ambassadorship can also be an essential part of your marketing plan. One of the major benefits of being an Ambassador is that it provides an opportunity to offer your services which can become a resource to our members. By doing this you will develop business relationships which in return can increase your bottom line.

Spanish-Speaking Small Business
This committee seeks opportunities to help integrate the large constituency of Spanish-speaking business entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community members to the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and its activities. The committee plans the Spanish-speaking mixers as well as provide educational information through seminars, workshops, forums and outreach delivered in the Spanish language.

Business & Legislative Relations
The Business and Legislative Committee is responsible for monitoring and developing business advocacy initiatives in the local business community and in the State of California.  They also stay on top of issues that impact our business owners. The primary focus is devoted on pending legislation, executive orders, local and statewide, labor issues and endorsements for appointed officials and initiatives, pending ordinances and policy changes.

Annual Awards & Recognition Banquet
This committee meets to prepare for the largest SHCC fund raiser. This event inspires involvement from all SHCC members. It is held in February and recognizes outstanding SHCC members and community leaders who have contributed to the betterment of the Chamber and the Hispanic Community.
This is a must attend event for anyone who wants to network and become familiar with other outstanding business men and women.

Scholarship/Education
The SHCC has maintained as one of its core values, the need to provide support, mentoring and scholarships for the youth in the Greater Sacramento region.  It is estimated that the chamber has given over $500,000 in scholarships over the years.  Today, the number and amount of scholarships continues to increase due to the generous contributions from corporations, foundations, business owners and individuals. The SHCC committee meets to review and select the recipients along with preparation of our annual scholarship dinner where we honor the scholarship recipients.

"Sacramento Hispanic Business" Magazine
The Sacramento Hispanic Business magazine is our premier publication and is designed to inform and educate our membership about issues of interest to the Hispanic business community as well as those who work in the Hispanic marketplace. The editorial committee continuously works to improve the look and content of this magazine. The committee reviews requests for advertising and educational articles that are submitted for publication.
